EWARS Weekly Bulletin

Highlights
Among the reported diseases, SARI is the leading cause of morbidity in Week 50 with 455 reported cases.
Overall reporting rate of Week 50 is 96.3% with 129 out of 134 sentinel sites reporting to EWARS.
Week Summary

This bulletin includes data since January 2023 till date, including comparison of the same period last two year. In May 2019, 36 new sentinel sites (including public hospitals, private hospitals, and medical colleges) were added and was gradually oriented and started reporting. Recently, in November 2024, 17 reporting sites selected from all the provinces of Nepal were upgraded to sentinel sites, thus the number of sentinel sites have increased. The current number of sentinel sites is 134.

Summary Observation (including probable and suspect cases)
Most of the AGE cases were reported from PARSA (29 cases), KATHMANDU (17 cases), KAILALI (16 cases), LALITPUR (14 cases) and BARA (13 cases).
Most of the SARI cases were reported from KATHMANDU (43 cases), MORANG (35 cases), KAILALI (32 cases), RUPANDEHI (19 cases) and SUNSARI (18 cases).
Cholera case(s) were reported from KATHMANDU (1 case).
Most of the Malaria cases were reported from BAITADI (1 case), DAILEKH (1 case) and DOLAKHA (1 case).
Most of the Dengue cases were reported from CHITAWAN (6 cases), KATHMANDU (6 cases), LAMJUNG (5 cases), TANAHU (3 cases) and MAKWANPUR (3 cases).
Most of the Kala azar cases were reported from KALIKOT (1 case), DOLPA (1 case), GULMI (1 case) and MAKWANPUR (1 case).
Most of the Scrub Typhus cases were reported from DANG (29 cases), SALYAN (12 cases), PALPA (11 cases), ROLPA (11 cases) and GORKHA (8 cases).
Most of the Enteric Fever cases were reported from KAILALI (14 cases), BAJHANG (7 cases), KANCHANPUR (5 cases), PARSA (5 cases) and BHOJPUR (4 cases).
Most of the Influenza Like Illness cases were reported from SINDHUPALCHOK (48 cases), KAILALI (34 cases), BHAKTAPUR (28 cases), KASKI (16 cases) and KATHMANDU (11 cases).
